Christmas and Costumes
Dec. 27th, 2011 06:06 pmOn Christmas day a suit I'd ordered a month ago came in (and yes, USPS, I'll be wanting that money back, you promised seven day delivery, not 28 day, I wouldn't trust you to sit the right way round on a toilet). So, this madness called a Sherlock costume rolls on, and now I have a nice suit. Subtle black stripes, but I could use slimming.
Presents! Most hilarious? A porny RP comic with Orlando Bloom topping the hell out of Johnny Depp. OH MY GOD. I blush to look at it.
So, costume-wise - still working on the coat. Well, test coat. And I have to cut and style a wig... UGH that won't be fun. If I had balls, I'd cut my own hair and dye it chestnut - I have hair that is similarly wavy to Benedict's. Blue eyes too, happily. Oh, and I am 5'10", so I need lifts in the shoes, but not much. No cheekbones sadly. And the chest bindings... *gasp* YEAH. Inconvenient boobs need to be flattened. *Can't breathe*
I have two purple shirts - the one I like better is touch more plum than I'd like, but has the best sheen. The dark one is too dark, and not cross-woven for that deep look. Damn - both are just in-between perfection - I am tortured!

Couldn't get hold of the Book version of London A to Z. I am thinking I may Photoshop on that says Tokyo A to Z for fun, and glue it to a Lonely Planet. Best thing that would ever happen to a Lonely Planet guide in my opinion.
I've got the magnifier. Happily I have an iPhone 3G, which was used by the Pink Lady, and got a cheap case for it.

Shoes - The ones to the left are the fashionable ones with extra long toes. Both have Oxford punching in them, though the pattern is different from the originals. Tough. Didn't want to pay hundreds. The left shoes are vinyl and smell like cheap ass. The ones on the right are not as slim and sexy, but leather.
The shirt is a cheap one from Uniqlo, in the perfect, PERFECT colour to match - pearl gray, and has the twill striping like Sherlock. I spent an hour sewing new black buttons to it to match Sherlock's. Also, removed the pockets from every shirt.

Date: 2011-12-28 03:09 am (UTC)Yes, the binding will have to be perfect, because his shirts leave nothing to the imagination! Oh that fit! ;D
And cut your hair! Bring a pic to the stylist - say: Do this! It will look lovely and it will grow out again :-) Plus it's not so very short - short is a good look for many women, especially if your hair waves and curls nicely like Sherlock's :D

Date: 2011-12-28 05:25 am (UTC)But for February, it'll be done, and I'll go to the second event in mufti, with the pearl grey shirt which is some snazzy with the buttons.
Sigh. I've done my hair blond for over 8 years. I was once brunette. Now all that grey, ugh. Still...
