Next - details on the pattern style. The Sherlock coat is a calf-length, double-breasted affair. Six buttons on the front, 2 under the lapels. I assume this is for when you actually do the coat up fully
.

Pockets - there are four. Two welt pockets on the breast, two patch pockets with flaps on the hips.
The lapel is notched, and has a reinforcement piece underneath, which is just as well the way Benny is always yanking the collar up.

The cuffs have a rounded edge on the back.

On the back, the skirts have a box pleat in the centre, and two knife pleats on either side. The knife pleats are aligned with the darts in the upper back of the coat,. the darts go up to the shoulder blades. The centre back of the upper part of the coat is vented, and has a triangle of reinforcement stitching just visible. The back belt has two buttons, and overlaps itself on the right side.

Next - pattern sketching and the muslin, or toile.

I don't think it is Benny yanking the coat collar up though - I think it is costuming - hiding that long neck of his :D :D :D
